  12. This utility will work with catalog files created by both the
  13. DOS and WINDOWS version of the OYC software.

  16. INTRODUCTION ----------
  17.  
  18. This utility provides two features:
  19.  
  20. 1) Search & Replace: finds any character, word, or phrase on the
  21. specified line and replaces it with any other character, word, or
  22. phrase.
  23.  
  24. 2) Find & Update: finds any character, word, or phrase on a specified
  25. line, and then saves new information on any other line for that entry.
  26. For example, in a music catalog you could search for the name of an
  27. artist, and have this utility put a word identifying that artist's
  28. style of music on the TYPE OF MUSIC line for that entry.

  31. INSTALLING AND STARTING -------------
  32.  
  33. Copy the SEARCH.EXE file to the same drive and directory as your OYC
  34. software.
  35.  
  36. Start this software by going to the DOS prompt for the drive and
  37. directory containing the OYC software; type SEARCH; and push ENTER.
  38. This utility can also be run from within Windows.

  42. SEARCH & REPLACE ------------
  43.  
  44. When this utility starts you'll be given the option of pushing "S"
  45. to use the Search & Replace feature, or "F" to use the Find & Replace
  46. feature.  Push the letter "S".
  47.  
  48. The next prompt askes you to enter the number of the line you wish
  49. to search.  Type that number (refer to the list of lines shown on the
  50. left side of the screen) and push ENTER.
  51.  
  52. Now enter the information you want to find.  This may be a single
  53. character, word or phrase.  The search and replace feature is case
  54. sensitive, so you must enter this information exactly as it current
  55. appears in your catalog.

  57. Next enter the information to replace what you are searching for.
  58. You may enter a blank space (just push ENTER), a character, word,
  59. or phrase.  This utility will delete the information you are searching
  60. for and insert this information in its place.
  61.  
  62. The next prompt askes whether you'd like to set a starting or ending
  63. point.  If you have a large catalog, you may only want to use the
  64. search and replace on a portion of that catalog.

  66. If you want the search and replace to look through your entire catalog,
  67. push the letter "N".  Otherwise push the letter "Y".  If you push "Y"
  68. you'll be prompted to enter a starting entry number and ending entry
  69. number.

  73. FIND & UPDATE ---------------

  75. When this utility starts you'll be given the option of pushing "S"

  93. what you are searching for.  This new information will completely
  94. replace the information already on the selected line.

  96. The next prompt askes whether you'd like to set a starting or ending
  97. point.  If you have a large catalog, you may only want to use the
  98. search and replace on a portion of that catalog.

  100. If you want the search and replace to look through your entire catalog,
